 L. M. Montgomery introduced the world to her province of Prince Edward Island, Canada where a certain spirited ginger came to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. One of Anne's unforgettable moments occurs when Anne invites Diana, her "bosom friend", for a proper afternoon tea. Their adventure with a bit of Marilla's raspberry cordial leaves Diana drunk when Anne mistakenly serves her Marilla's famous currant wine.
